Math week mathalathon


Mathematics gives us hope that every problem has a solution’. The purpose of the Math week was to teach the students about basic mathematics in a simple and playful manner. The plethora of activities was planned such as trace the number in the sand tray, value counting using sticks, fill in the missing numbers on the caterpillar, roll a dice for the gingerbread man. Kindergarten I students participated in sorting tens and ones, made a Shape Pizza, number weaving, symmetry and full and less or more and less concepts which challenged their reasoning and creative thinking skills. The week ended with KII Math activities such Shark Addition and Subtraction, Palm Counting, Odd and Even Wheel, Whack a ball, Measuring length using non-standard unit, letters in your name, How tall am I, Clock and number games. Parents were engaged in Bingo Card game, observed how children calculated using nonstandard unit of measurement for height using yarn and for length using wooden blocks. The Math week was a success in intriguing the students about the exciting world of Mathematics with skills such as Problem solving and reasoning, critical thinking, spatial awareness, Shapes and Pattern, Measurement, Time and Data Analysis to name a few.




Marathi bhasha diwas


Marathi Bhasa Divas or Marathi Language Day is celebrated annually on February 27 to honour the birth anniversary of famous Marathi poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, who was popularly known as 'Kusumagraj'. Shirwadkar was an eminent Marathi poet, playwright, novelist, short story writer, and humanist. BVRTSE preprimary children came dressed in traditional attire for Marathi Bhasha Diwas Assembly. Each class presented and sang a special Balgeet song such as Yere yere pausa, Sasa sasa, Nach re more, Chando Chandoba, Ghadyat vajle ek and to name a few. It was a pleasure to see students pick up Marathi language through songs and poem.




Pink/purple colour day


BVRTSE preprimary children were introduced to Pink and Purple colour through objects, song and a story. Children looked lovely in their pink/purple outfits, and they saw a wide range of pink/purple items put on display such as a pink/purple Unicorn, cups, bowls, glasses, caps, toys, pillow and much more. They were engaged in a creative expression of making pink peppa pig puppets, pink /purple butterfly, flower craft and pink/purple collage that the children assembled collectively. The young ones looked charismatic in their pink and purple attire radiating love, beauty and kindness. Pink and purple colour filled the air with care, compassion and love.
